ChickenGuard Automatic Door Openers are now in stock.

 

The Standard ASTi Chicken Guard Door Opener will Lift 1 KG, The Heavy Duty version will lift up to 2 kg

We’ve just had our first delivery of the ChickenGuard Automatic door opener.

The standard door opener (ASTi)  which will lift a 1 KG door and the upgraded version that will lift 2 KG are available.

Both versions have both light and time control and can be easily configured to suit you and your hens.  They are available at the bargain price of £99.95 for the standard version or £109.98 for the heavy duty version.  (Shhhhh.  A little birdy tells me these prices will be increasing a little in the new year so ordering soon could save you money)

They are both supplied with comprehensive instructions but failing that we are always willing to advise on fitting door openers and with 10 years experience of automated door openers we know how to fit them to most chicken coops.

 

 

Vsb automatic door opener won’t open

If your vsb door opener won’t lift the door it is attached to but you can still hear the motor running the most likely cause is simply a loose bolt which can easily be fixed.

Assuming you are checking it in daylight, push the spool with the cord on over to the left, if you can’t then this isn’t the solution to your problem. You should be able to the motor spindle turning. On the motor spindle there is a flat section that the small bolt on the cord spool should be clamped against. Wait for the motor to turn so this is facing towards you and then remove one of the battery connections.

Turn the cord spindle until the bolt is pointing towards you and lining up with the flat on the motor spindle. Push the cord spool back onto the motor spindle and then tighten the small bolt. Ideally you should use a suitable allen key but we’ve found that simply grabbing it with a pair of pliers is effective even if it does leave a few makes on the bolt.

Now reconnect the batteries and it’s ready to go.  If you need to replace the cord we can also supply spare cord for your vsb or you can source it yourself – 10 or 20lb braided fishing line is suitable.  It needs to be flexible, the single strand plastic fishing line isn’t suitable
