- 9 x 21′ chicken coop and run with 6″ base plinth
It was a damp and drizzly day just south of Didcot when we went to put this chicken house up. This spec of house is fast becoming our most popular size. The 6″base plinth allows for a layer of litter to be used in the bottom without it falling out through the mesh. The litter can be easily changed and prevent the ground inside turning to a mud bath. We can also build it with a 12″ base plinth that gives some extra wind protection as wells as containing the litter. The raised house leaves a sheltered area underneath to offer more weather protection. The house it’s self will accommodate up to 25 hens given a large enough run area. In this case, we suggest the 21′ run is suitable for up to 20 birds. Extra space can be added later as we also supply extensions for our houses. The perimeter of this house and run is protected with a 12″ wide anti dig mesh laid on the surface.
