With its traditional structure and pitched roof, the Sonning Major has all the style and charm of farmyard henhouses of the past. But don't be fooled - this is very much a chicken house designed for the modern age. The entire chicken house is made from high quality, thick timber and the large access door and removable floor and nest box mean it is very easy to clean. Maintenance is kept to a minimum too, as the wood is pressure treated to resist mould and rot, so you don't even have to protect the wood from the elements.

It's not all about making your life easier, either. The Sonning Major includes everything your birds need for a safe, comfortable environment, including a large nest box that can be attached to either side, plenty of space, draught-free ventilation, and 2 adjustable perches.

Keeping your Birds Safe at Night

The thick timber we use on the Sonning Major looks great, keeps your birds warm and dry, and is fox-proof too. They can scratch, claw and paw all they like, but the wood won't give way - the frame is solid and the panels securely fixed so they won't be able to force their way in.

So your birds can relax, tucked up safely behind the lockable door and pophole while Mr Fox makes his paws sore. Don't worry, your birds won't be disturbed for long - foxes and dogs soon realise they are not getting in and scurry off into the night.
