Works beatifully and arrived very quickly. The drinker was exactly as described and was dispatched immediately which enabled us to cope with below freezing temperatures and the hens unvisited for 24 hours. Brilliant! Thank you. Sally - Suffolk
perfect solution to freezing temps Was a bit sceptical before purchasing but very glad I did. has kept the chickens drinker ice free even when temp got down to -11!!!! buy with confidence :-) paul lamar - new forest
Great Works perfectly. I did extend the lead and remove the plug to wire into a fused supply. I also knocked up a wooden frame to secure the heater centrally under the water bowl – we use a ceramic dog bowl. Seem to remember mine being labeled 9w, or 19w, not the quoted 24w. A thermostat would be nice. Toby - Northants
drinker heater There is no description with this heater as to whether it can be used outside or if it is an indoor only device. Any advice please John - Bristol UK
Does the joib very well! Don't be put off by moans about the plug and short lead-plenty of options available to you. I found it useful to wire a socket for the plug, and then I can just remove the heater in Summer and keep it safe. I too made a simple frame for the plastic drinker-very easy. Stephen - West Mersea
winters on its way This is my second review for this product it does the job but requires a frame to stop the chooks knocking the 6 ltr plastic drinker off the heat pad, as mentioned before the short lead and plug is to bulky for weatherproof sockets. Purchased second for oncomming winter no more frozen drinkers J B Williams - Shrewsbury
Sound Practical design This heater is excellent spoilt only by the short lead and silly plug. Surely you would be better off with a longer lead and no plug for wiring into a fused spur.(Wells Poultry added: all portable electrical items have to be supplied with a plug.) David Palmer - Near Ludlow
Lead very short and ends in a indoor type plug so not exactly practical for outdoor use. However works adequately and worth the money . Kluck - Leicester
works well Lead is short and adaptor does not fit in a weatherproof extension socket (lid won't close). Made a small wooden frame to stop drinker from being knocked off the pad by the chooks however it does what it says on the tin no more frozen water even at -16. It works, up to a point Heater functioned well inside hen house up to -8C but below that a layer of ice started to form at edges of large 20l galvanised steel drinker. Resolved by using smaller 10 litre plastic farmer mo - moyrah
