40w Dull Emitter Heat Lamp Bulb.
These dull emitters emit only heat and no light. We recommend these are not used in compact lamps such as our standard heat lamp or small pro lamps as unlike infrared bulbs they have no reflector built in. The large pro lamp or the indivual heat lamp components are suitable.
Occasionally, these lamps may not work with fittings bought elsewhere (all our products should be compatible). This can normally be remedied by bending the centre contact outwards.

Dull emitter heat lamp did not fit my lampholder. I have a Turnock (make) TA214 Lampholder which is suitable for dull emitter bulbs, however your bulbs foul this fitting and initially did not work. I remedied the problem by removing the ring which secures the reflector. Its a shame but it is not compatible without doing this. (Wells Poultry added: This is a know issue and the remedy is described on the website. There are 2 different thread specs, one for light bulbs and a slightly shorter one for dull emitters. What you have is a fitting intended for use with a light bulb, not a dull emitter although you may have previously had a dull emitter bulb with a light bulb thread which is common on imported bulbs.)\n (30/12/2013) Bryan Tucker - Blandford, Dorset
ideal blub I brought this bulb for when my chicks get that little bit bigger that the hotter blub is to much. It is the ideal temperature for them just before they go out side.\n (14/10/2013) chicken lady - cornwall
A useful accessory A conventional IR bulb was unsuitable, and this provided a useful low-level heater to keep our small flock safely warm enough. Arrived with a chunk of the caee broken off (despite excellent packing) but Araldite provided a simple repair.\n (01/02/2013) J Easson - Coupar Angus

very good bulb keeps the brooder at a very good temperature, and this bulb works very well with a heat lamp reflector, also available from Wells Poultry. Very Pleased\n (06/04/2010) Gary Booth - Buxton Derbyshire
40w dull emitter ceramic heat lamp bulb At first it did not seem to work with ceramic fitting but after a quick phone call to you, and some good advice later, it worked brilliantly. Not been used to "heat only" so once I got used to the fact that there was not constant light, the chicks got used to night/day routine. Excellent service.\n (06/01/2010) Mrs. E.
